Zürich, Switzerland’s largest city and it lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland and a global center for banking and finance. Although it buzzes with business activity, Zürich is one of the finest Swiss towns to visit and is perfectly arranged for sightseeing on foot, it’s easy to forget that it’s also a delightful and fascinating place for tourists.



The Fraumünster Church (lit. in English: Women’s Minster, but often wrongly translated to [Our] Lady Minster) in Zurich is built on the remains of a former abbey for aristocratic women which was founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard. He endowed the Benedictine convent with the lands of Zurich, Uri, and the Albis forest, and granted the convent immunity, placing it under his direct authority. Today, it belongs to the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Zürich and is one of the four main churches of Zürich, the other’s being the Grossmünster, Prediger and St. Peter’s church.

The Grossmünster (“great minster”) is a Romanesque-style Protestant church in Zurich, Switzerland. It is one of the four major churches in the city (the others being the Fraumünster, Predigerkirche and St. Peterskirche). Its congregation forms part of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Zürich. The core of the present building near the banks of the Limmat was constructed on the site of a Carolingian church, which was, according to legend, originally commissioned by Charlemagne.Construction of the present structure commenced around 1100 and it was inaugurated around 1220.

It came into existence when the city fortifications were demolished in 1864 and the ditch in front of the walls was filled in. Until that time, the name of the location had been “Ditch Of The Frogs” (Fröschengraben), which then was changed Station Street (Bahnhofstrasse).

Münsterbrücke is a pedestrian and road bridge over the Limmat in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. It is listed in theSwiss inventory of cultural property of national and regional significance. It is indirectly named after two Münster (minsters), the Fraumünster and Grossmünster.

Quaibrücke (English: Quay Bridge) is a road, tramway, pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the river Limmat, at the outflow of Lake Zürich in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. It was built simultaneously with the construction of Zürich’s new quays between 1881 and 1887.

The Zunfthaus zur Meisen is the guild house of the Zunft zur Meisen. It is one of the many historically valuable buildings in the Lindenhof quarter in Zürich, Switzerland, and also houses the porcelain and faience collection of the Swiss National Museum. It is situated at the Münsterhof and the Münsterbrücke Limmat crossing, opposite of the upper Limmatquai respectively the Constaffel, Zimmerleuten, Kämbel and Saffran guild houses.

  1. Wow, many thanks thus much! once disbursal plenty of your time with this stupid error I virtually gave up. The Regcure fix worked sort of a charm on the primary attempt. It took slightly longer than ten minutes, nearer to thirty, however by the time it had been finished my laptop worked nice once more.
